The key to canine wellbeing
The key to canine
overall wellbeing
Healthy dogs not only enjoy a slower onset of physical and cognitive deterioration associated with aging, they also display more youthful characteristics.
Regular fitness and conditioning involve targeted exercises that go beyond daily walks. These exercises contribute to decreased body weight and fat stores, greater muscle strength, improved organ function, reduced stress, enhanced mental health, and injury prevention—the benefits of an active lifestyle are hard to dispute.

canine total health
Strength
Enables muscles to work with more power, with less fatigue.
Balance
Prevents injury, improves agility and encourages motor control of body movements.
Flexibility
Encourages joint range of movement without restrictions and stiffness.
Proprioception
Challenges limb awareness through a combination of slow, precise movements.
Cardiorespiratory
Supports use and delivery of oxygen to working muscles and tissue.
Mental fitness
Provides mental stimulus for cognitive upregulation.

REASON 1
Success starts with form
Form is imperative for any good conditioning training program. Without proper form established at the foundational level, you can actually do more harm than good, essentially aging your dog every day as more and more bad movement patterns get set. The poor movement patterns cause dogs to work harder. As they compensate they become more susceptible to injury.

REASON 2
Tip to tail foundation
Conditioning plays a huge role in a dog’s health and well-being. A body that is not exercised, even if they are eating well, faces physical and cognitive instability. Playing, running in the dog park, fetch is not conditioning. Conditioning involves promoting a desired behavior in association with a stimulus and a response.
